About NZCJA

History

The New Zealand Cavy Judges Association (NZCJA) traces its origins to 1976, when the importation of purebred cavies by Jack Whitworth initiated a new era in cavy care and exhibition. Recognising the need for consistent and expert judging, Whitworth began training judges according to the esteemed English standard, culminating in the formation of the NZCJA. Since then, the association's judges have been an integral part of New Zealand's cavy shows, ensuring fairness and quality in every event. Currently, the organization is led by Pat Hardcastle as President and Joan Clack as Secretary/Treasurer, both of whom continue to uphold the legacy of excellence and dedication set forth by its founders.
